The design stems from a careful analysis of the site. Situated in a natural clearing on the highest point of the land, the house is positioned as a self-contained element within the landscape, taking advantage of views of the village, the canal, and Faial Island, without imposing a dominant presence. This placement ensures privacy and promotes harmonious integration with the surrounding environment.
Casa IM
Located in the northwestern coastal area of the parish of Bandeiras, the proposal is situated on the highest and flattest part of the land, taking advantage of privileged views over Pico Mountain, the sea, and the neighboring islands.
Casa DM
The site's layout was carefully designed to adapt to the irregular geometry of the terrain and respect the existing natural elements, establishing a direct visual relationship with the surrounding landscape and the neighboring island. The architecture thus positions itself as a framing and contemplative element, enhancing the views and the connection with the place.
Adega Bento Winnery
Situated in isolation within the vineyard, the building seeks to continue the alignment of the existing walls, reinforcing the harmony with the surroundings and the landscape. The architectural language is inspired by traditional coastal wineries, reinterpreting their essential elements through a contemporary and functional expression.
